Following on from our summer “covid-19” mission of our random acts of kindness, we’d like to extend how we offer our Maternity Experience to all those who are expecting a baby throughout this crazy pandemic!
I cannot imagine how it must feel not being allowed into appointments, scans and clinics. Kirsty & I have heard some heartbreaking stories where birthing partners have not been able to be as involved in the prenatal journey as much as they would like. Even after their baby has been born, restrictions have taken over and they’ve not been able to spend as much time as they wanted with their newborn whilst at the hospital.
As a lucky dad to three beautiful girls I cannot imagine not being allowed to join in on these moments. With our first born, I was able to go to every single midwife appointment and be a part of every single scan (and there were quite a few due to her choosing to be so still a lot of the time!). With our second, I cannot describe the pride I felt in fulfilling my “dad role” of bringing our eldest to meet her new sister for the first time; being able to sit her down and prepare our, then, 21month old on how to hold her 1 day old baby sister. As the partner, you can sometimes feel pushed to one side, as mum and baby’s needs are, so rightly, put first. It got me thinking how covid-19 would emphasise those feelings and both Kirsty and I knew we had to do “something” to create a chance for your family to be able to experience this special time, together.
So we got thinking… Luckily, as our studio is quite “unique” and away from a high street we’re able to offer a truly special service where the visitors of the studio are the only ones in the building. This means that all the, fully cleaned and disinfected, facilities are at your disposal and we hope you’re able to leave any covid based anxieties at the door. In fact, due to the unique nature of our home based studio, on the outskirts of Belper, this means that we’re able to welcome both you, your partner and your growing Bump (plus siblings!) to join us.
For all those who are due a baby in the next three months, we’d like to invite you to enjoy a Maternity Experience absolutely free of charge. Mum, dad and siblings are all welcome to join and move in to the studio for an afternoon whilst we photograph you all together - a moment in time that you’re all able to enjoy throughout this truly bizarre time we are all living through. EVEN MORE - we’d like to gift you three complimentary 6x8 prints, of your choice, for you to enjoy in your home and, over the years to come, have a happy memoir of this time before your little one arrives!
Yeah, but what’s the catch?
Absolutely nothing. To those who have known us over the last 20 years of photographing, you’ll know we like to do random acts of kindness - and this is one of those acts. Both Kirsty and I truly believe that the pregnancy journey should be a joint experience and we cannot imagine having to go through this, not able to be together.
